Optimal Performance | Bike Fit | Physio | Massage
By Alex Mann 10 May, 2021
PHYSIOTHERAPY Our team currently includes four physiotherapists: Anthony, Katie, Harry and Charlotte. We are here to keep you on the road, court, field, track or in the pool and guide you successfully through injury to complete your event. We specialise in sporting injuries and those difficult chronic injuries that have failed to respond to treatment in the past. We want to help you get better for whatever your goal is, be it return to work, to function better in your day to day activities, train with your friends, walk your dog or compete at your first ever event or in the world champs. BIKEFIT In a program designed to help you ride more comfortably, faster and for longer, Anthony brings his sports physiotherapy experience to specifically analyse your riding and bike setup. We analyse the setup of your bike, and combine this with video footage recorded from all angles as you ride to ensure your bike setup is maximising your performance. The video footage is analysed and compared to your body, any injuries, your bike measurements, your cleat placement and your cycling event/goal. Suggestions are then made to make you more comfortable, decrease injury risk and increase performance MASSAGE Sports Massage Therapist, Vic Chapman, is here to keep you on the road, field, track or in the pool and ease your muscles to keep you performing at your optimal level. Vic is trained in Brandon Raynor Therapy as well as being a Registered Nurse. All of our physio’s also offer massage as part of your treatment or as a standalone option as well. Katie is also Raynor trained. Hands on strong massage therapy aimed at decreasing tension through your muscles to allow you to move easier or perform better, stronger or faster. We also offer flushes for during or close to events to help the muscles recover for the next session.

While taking on the challenges of coaching, he completed Coaching Qualifications here and in Australia. In 1995 Hamish completed a BA in Psychology, and in 2015 was awarded a Masters Degree for research into the use of Power Meters to model the long term fitness of Elite Road Cyclists. Since 1991 he has coached riders to 71 National Titles, 17 UCI World Level Medals, two Olympians and has twice won Cycling NZ Coach of the Year for Road and Track Coaching As a coach Hamish works with Road, Track, Cross Country, Enduro and Downhill Cyclists. He blends a combination of sport science based practice with his many years of coaching experience to develop a comprehensive programme for cyclists. Coaching is about making a positive difference in athlete’s lives and cycling careers. I have a huge amount of experience, both on and off the bike, and am extremely passionate about coaching. It doesn’t matter what level you are at or how big or small your goals are, I have the skills and knowledge to help you achieve your goals. My motivation is to elevate you to the next level and help you achieve your goals, using knowledge gained from decades of racing and coaching professionally at the highest levels in the sport. For me there is nothing better than seeing an athlete succeed and learn something along the way that they will take with them for life

I love coaching and helping develop riders, whether they are young or old. I have coached riders to win masters world titles, Junior World titles and medals, UCI Gran Fondo medals, National titles, Oceania titles, National records since returning to coaching domestically and to be honest I enjoy it more now, because of the people whom I coach…we are a successful happy group who love riding, racing and achieving our goals.
